Veterans Day Road Race Committee-
Ron Hwalek presented several color options for our race day T-shirt. Those present agreed on a “cornflower” color for this year to go with our new logo design.
A preplanning discussion was held for our annual Veterans Day 5K Road Race scheduled for Saturday, November 4th, 2006. Warren Wenz lead the discussion including assigning commission members to various tasks and duties such as: traffic control, sponsorship forms, ceremony, programs, food items, memorial wreaths, food bank donations, bulk mailing of entry forms, and advertising.
Rick Webster reported that this year the Manchester Thanksgiving Day road race will only accept official race times for seeding purposes in their race up until October 29, 2006. This deadline was initiated this year by the Manchester Race committee because of the overwhelming number of time submissions submitted just before their race last year. Because our race is held in November our race times cannot be used as a seeding placement for Manchester’s race. Rick said this will cause us to lose the free advertising we usually got in the Manchester race notices. The commission members discussed ways of rectifying this next year.
OTHER BUSINESS:
Warren Wenz asked that we keep our fellow commission members, Fred McDermott, Bill Abbe, Sr. and Don Brown in our thoughts and prayers and wish them a speedy recovery from their illness.
Warren added that we may need to schedule a special meeting to process Race Day entry forms for mailing.
Warren reminded those present that our next regular meeting will be
Thursday, October 5, 2006, at 7PM
East Windsor Town Hall

Respectfully submitted,
Mark Simmons, Secretary, E.W.V.C.
